Making Literacy Come Alive with Technology!

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Witness how our first and second grade students get excited about developing literacy skills through technology! Learn to teach beginning, middle and end for narrative writing by having students produce claymations. Explore how creating a music video helps students remember how to write a complete sentence. Experience sharing class books using digital storytelling tools. And see how giving students a blog to share their excitement about learning reinforces writing skills in a positive and meaningful way.

Tech Integrationist
I worked in public schools for over 42 years, as a math and computer programming teacher, and then as a technology integration specialist. Since I left the public school system, I have continued to teach graduate classes for teachers on the use of technology in education. Ask me about the course I'm co-teaching with Lisa Barry this summer!

Grade 4 Teacher, Richmond Elementary School
I have taught grades K-4, and am currently a fourth grade teacher at Richmond Elementary School. It is my passion to inspire children and give them a deep love of learning by teaching through the arts and technology. I believe in giving students a voice in their learning and helping them share their thinking with the world.
