Bringing the Maker Movement and the Internet of Things into the classroom represents a huge opportunity to get students to realize computers and the Internet are not just about tapping on a pane of glass. This talk will share the exciting results of piloting a high school design course that teaches students how to build their own custom data gathering devices and thereby create their own Big Data sets.
