In 1980, Seymour Papert wrote Mindstorms. He used the term, “Bricolage,” to describe an activity that mashes together different technologies, trying, failing, and re-trying until something interesting results. In a 2011 TED Talk, Dale Dougherty, the founder of Make Magazine, says we are all makers. Makers are all about the tinkering. Making is bricolage revisited with new technologies. This talk reinterprets the vision in Mindstorms by applying it to the process of making to learn.
